An LED lamp uses light-emitting diodes instead of electrical filaments or gas as the source for illumination. The lamps normally consist of clusters of LEDs within a suitable housing and come in many different shapes, sizes and cap types that can fit directly into the lamp holders of the lamps they are replacing.
LEDs first became available in the 1960s and by the 1970s were being used in a wide range of equipment, however, these early LEDs only had a very low output and were useless for general lighting but were used widely as types of indicator.
To start with they came only in colours (blue, yellow, green, red & orange.) It was only in 1993 that the first white LED light was made by combining the lights that were the colour of the spectrum.
Older light bulbs like the ones still used in homes around the world have a very short life compared to LED lamps, and run on a much higher wattage, making LED lamps more cost effective in an energy efficiency sense, in terms of lifespan, and durability as there’s no filament or tube to break.

May is when the grass starts growing and so do their buddies the weeds. Spraying of broad-leaved lawn weeds such as dandelion and plantain with a herbicide can begin as soon as the air temperature can be depended upon to stay 70 for several hours.
Creeping Charley (Nepeta hederacea) is called by so many names (such as gill-over-the-ground and ground ivy) that a description might be in order. This weed creeps along the ground, its thin wiry stems rooting as they lengthen. Its leaves are scalloped and round; its flowers are tiny spikes of typical catnip form. Creeping Charley thrives in shade. It can be killed with sprays containing material developed for it’s control. This material, marketed under several trade names, is widely available. Begin an insect-control program for your rose bushes as soon as the leaves on the canes are full-size. Remember that black spot, the most serious rose disease in the Middle West, can never be cured; it can only be prevented. Keep the leaves covered at all times with a combination dust. My pet combination is malathion and captan. This “combo” has worked well for me over the years.

May links spring with summer; the differences in growing conditions that marked the earlier days of spring are now leveling off. The sowing and planting of hardy plants are now merging with those that are more tender.
May is also a big planting out month, from coldframe, greenhouse and hotbed. Plants that have been conditioning are now ready to be planted outside. But exercise care, for May is capricious. The weather should be thoroughly settled before any full scale planting is done. Late spring frosts can be expected until late May in Central and Northern New York. June frosts are not uncommon in Northern Maine, except in the coastal areas. Late spring frosts also occur in Northern Ohio, Indiana and Michigan, except along the Great Lakes, where the temperatures are more moderate.
If roses or other shrubs must still be put in, cut back their tops drastically, the roses to two eyes or growth buds. Cut back the roots slightly to encourage the growth of feeder roots. After planting, cover the roses with peatmoss or soil to keep the stems from drying out. The growing buds will emerge through the covering.

For those of you that are in the dark, did you know that the air that is outside can be up to 10 times dirtier than the air that is outside? For this reason alone, many people are choosing to invest money in an air purifier for their home.
I am sure that you have seen these advertised before, whether it be walking around a shopping mall, or on the internet. But there are a handful of people that are not sure if it is worth the money to invest in one.
The truth is that air purifiers can be expensive to purchase, but you need to remember one thing. They result in clean air, which is easier to breathe. Now how can you go and put a price on something like that?
So when you actually think about it, air purifiers are a excellent deal, making them definitely worth the investment. However, as wonderful as air purifiers are, you need to remember that they are not all the same. That is why it is vital that you know what you are buying.

Indian sandstone is a form of sandstone which is cheaper and still very stylish and serves as a great product for paving, decoration and of course, tiling in your home. You can use it inside and outside your home and it’s a very good material for decoration and can be used commercially as well as domestically.
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock and Indian sandstone is a simple form of this. Sedimentary rock is a form of rock which has formed over a long time and has built up in layers which creates a beautiful effect.
It is probably one of the most popular forms of sandstone used in gardens and the home. This is probably because it’s cheaper than other materials but still offers a stylish and sophisticated look to it.
Indian sandstone can be made into many different things such as bricks, blocks, cobbles and pebbles and even tiles for your home. It is mostly used as tiling for your home but it can also be used to make walls, sculptures and statues as well.

It is best to have your bathroom vanity coordinate with the fixtures, for instance if you have a contemporary streamlined fixtures, a modern vanity would look best but if you have an antique claw foot tub and other antique accents, consider a complementing antique vanity. Patio doors were originally created to replace French doors, offering an uninterrupted view of the natural daylight coming into the house, and providing easy access to the outdoors. As a result, patio doors are still hugely popular and due to demand, have become somewhat more elaborate over the years. However, they were not completely able to replace French doors; whereas the style and design of a French door is still seen as a classic and timeless look. However, the two are able co-exist on the market, benefiting the home-owner who has a choice of door options to consider.
At one point, a patio door was not a very secure entryway and easily accessible from the outside. Over time improvements have been made so now this is not as great an issue as it previously had been. There is also another issue of safety because the door, being a solid sheet of glass, is often seen as being open when it is actually not. To help remedy possible injuries, safety glass is now used to prevent people, especially children, from running headlong into the closed doors and getting severe lacerations.
