Canadian Flowers are found on the sides of country roads and in meadows as well. They are all very beautiful and are definite things to snap a picture of in its natural environment.

A rare beauty that grows in the Saskatchewan area is called the Western red Lily. These flourish in the meadows of the countrysides and in areas that are forested but smaller. Their color is very noticeable as it is a bright red with tine flecks of golden centers to draw your attention in to them.

Spread over the miles between Quebec and British Columbia you will spy dazzling Wild Roses. These are found in many lovely colors and are mostly seen in roadsides and forests naturally.

Did you know that instead of a country flower the Canadians use the brilliance of the Maple Leaf to signify their country and it adorns everything from flags, hats, shirts and even tags for cars.

On the exquisite Island of Prince Edward you will spy dainty Lady’s Slippers which are in full array in the spring seasons. These grow in shady places and in the forests of the island. The petals of this flower look like delicate slippers a lady might wear, hence its name.

From the end of March through to May the lovely Pacific Dogwoods are in their full radiant blooming seasons. These are worth stopping to admire if you chance one while out on your daily journey.

In Nova Scotia you will see Mayflowers. These can also be found growing wildly among the North American Eastern Coastlines. The Mayflowers were named as spring’s first blooming flower by settlers in early America.

Ontario is alive with White Trillium’s in their dainty and joyful white and ivory angelic colors. These are most prominent within meadow lands and fields as well as the forests.

Vivid Blue Flags grow predominantly in Quebec. Since the year of 1936 these flowers have been planted and now naturally grow throughout Quebec’s provinces. They are really a sight to admire.

The daintily look of the Purple Violet can be found growing in New Brunswick. The tiny flowers consist of dark blue and violet colors and grow mostly in the meadow wet lands and damp forests.

The Fire weed is an extraordinary flowering plant as it grows where land as been ravaged by fire the best. It is a lot taller than most flowers and of course in fiery red and darker pink in color. These also love to grow on the sides of the motor ways and in meadows and fields throughout the Yukon Territory. It is nice to know that out of devastation beauty can flourish too.

The Pitcher Plant can interestingly enough feed and water itself when needed. The top is like a saucer shape and holds water that collects within it as well as smaller insects for a daily snack or two. The plant then closes a little and ingest these into its own system for nourishment. These are prominent around Newfoundland and Labrador Canada.

Flowers are all over the world and in different hues, shapes and climates. Finding rare gems within them all is always worth a quick stop on your daily routine to admire and enjoy the beauty that is nature and all around us such as these special Canadian flowers.

London flower shops offer a variety of flowers that are perfect for every occasion! Florist London Ontario uses an excellent selection of colours and wrapping techniques, offering you the most beautiful bouquet.

While you may already have a certain flower that attracts you, orchids offer a variety that appeals to anyone. For more than one hundred years since it’s introduction to Victorian society, orchids have become one of the most exquisite choices in flowers available.

Orchids are available in four different varieties. Epiphytes – cling to the tree as they grow Lithophytes – known for growing on rocks. Saprophytes – grow in leaf litter. Terrestrials – grows in sand.Between these four categories, you will discover that there is an abundant number of distinct plants.

Native orchid species number more than 20,000 known species, which leaves us to believe that may be many not discovered yet. In addition to the native species, over 100,000 hybrids have been created artificially with cultivators. It has been a busy one hundred years for the orchid family.

Orchids have long had a reputation for being high maintenance and hard to grow. This isn’t necessarily true. Some varieties do need more attention, but there are many varieties that are hardy. Some orchid varieties prefer heat and humidity that is the popular belief for this plant, but there are some that thrive in cool, dry conditions. The differences in light, temperature and the best growing condition is another example of the varieties of natural areas where they grow.

The orchid flower has roots in all the continents (except Antarctica), from Africa to South America. Many varieties of the orchard flower actually grow as indigenous wildflowers. The large number of orchids found in Hawaii has earned it the nickname “Orchid Island”.

Orchids do require some special care. Like other plants, they are susceptible to pest and disease. Some of the more common pests include spider mites, snails and aphids. Certain varieties are more prone to fungi and bacteria growth, but prevention goes a long way, and curing problems is not that difficult.

Techniques range from simple brushing or washing off the flowers and leaves to mild anti-bacterial compounds. Fungi can be treated by drying, anti-fungicides and other methods. Sometimes simple isolation is enough to prevent spreading and the plant will cure itself with a little pruning and proper watering and potting.

Choosing the right orchid is sometimes the most difficult part of caring for them. The wide range of shapes, colors and sizes can overwhelm the orchid lover’s senses. Catalogs give choices with every imaginable option – leaves or none, growth height, mature flower size. Finding the perfect fit can be an adventure.

It doesn’t matter what your taste in flowers is, what your decorating goal is, or how much of a green thumb you have. There is an orchid that will work for you. One thing that is certain is that you will be able to find the perfect plant to bring beauty to your home or green house.

Orchids are shade-loving plants, and while they are growing they need the equivalent of the dappled sunlight they would receive growing in the tree canopy of their natural home. Too much light during the summer will harm the plants by turning the foliage a light green-yellow.

In more severe cases, direct sun will burn the leaves, causing black areas where the sun’s rays have destroyed the leaf cells.

Insufficient light, on the other hand, will create dark green leaves that can become over-extended and limp. The aim should be to give your orchids just enough light to produce a good mid-green, healthy foliage and pseudo bulbs that will develop flower spikes at the right time.

After flowering and before the new growth starts, Calanthe pseudobulbs can be taken out of their pot and left to dry until the new growth is seen.

Thunias are among the very few orchids that produce an autumn display when their leaves change colour before being shed. The leafless canes remain dormant for the winter.

Moving the orchids to a lighter area winter may be the answer, provided their temperature requirements are the same. Alternatively, electric light using horticultural fluorescent tubes above the orchids, may be the answer. However, this system requires a considerable financial outlay to be satisfactory. It grows well in colder climates and is used is northern North America with success.

In a greenhouse or heated conservatory, it becomes easier to contra:, light levels, and in the winter the orchids will benefit from full light with no risk of burning from the sun s weak rays.

Summer night-time temperatures should remain at around 13C F) with no electric heating in the achieve the higher temperature required on winter lights, you will need to provide heat for longer than is necessary with the cooler-growing types
