If you are fed up with the color of your refrigerator then you can render an additional layer of design to the body of your old refrigerator. Though the job appears a bit sophisticated but you can handle it on your own. You would require a little guidance and the right kind of materials to attain success in the concerned task.
First of all, assess the area of the refrigerator that needs to be painted. The back side of the refrigerator should be excluded from the paint-job as the black color complements the operation of the coils. Consider only the front, top and bottom surface of the refrigerator for the required paint-job. Also, take into consideration the amount of paint needed to repaint the refrigerator.
Choose the color with the beautification theme in mind and purchase this special paint from a local paint shop. The quality of this paint makes it heat-resistible and cold-resistible.
Clean the external body of the refrigerator unit thoroughly to remove any kind of stain, dirt or smoke. Such an operation would offer a smooth layer to the upcoming coat of paint. Consequently, the paint layer will be able to bind effectively to the surface of the refrigerator.

If you want to connect a ceiling fan then this can be done by you also. You just need to be little attentive while making the connections. Also for connecting different wires, tightly connect the wires and don’t use loose nuts as they make the connection loose. Never leave the connections uncovered and wrap an electric tape around it.
For connecting a ceiling fan 4 different wires are provided. These wires are normally found to have black, white, green and one more color (red/blue or black/white striped). Each color has different meaning.
Out of four wires, black wire represents the hot lead of the fan whereas red/blue/striped wire represents hot lead of the light kit (optional). White wire represents the neutral lead of ceiling fan as well as light kit and green wire represents the ground wire for whole assembly.
Now as you know the significance of all the wires, you can start connecting these wires. Connect the neutral wire of ceiling fan to neutral wire of home wiring. Some of the ceiling fans have a white wire that is wrapped by a striped tape or a colored tape. Such wires sometimes show that they should be used for some other purpose rather than for making a neutral connection.

Dimmer switches can create a good ambiance in dinning room or a home theater. Installing them is also not a cumbersome task. But before purchasing it, you should have a basic knowledge regarding them.
First fact about dimmer switches is that they can operate 120V incandescent bulbs and halogen bulbs but can not operate fluorescent bulbs and most compact fluorescent bulbs.
Dimmer switches can generally operate those bulbs that have wire filaments. This is present in 120V incandescent and halogen bulbs, therefore they can be operated using dimmer switches. On contrary, fluorescent bulbs and compact fluorescent bulbs have certain gas that needs some voltage for its operation. In case the halogen bulb have very less voltage then different dimmer switches are required.
Two different kinds of dimmer switches are: single pole and 3-way dimmer switches. A single pole dimmer switch can be operated from a single location or single switch. A 3-way dimmer switch can be operated from two different switches located at different locations but out of two, only one is dimmer switch.

Washing Machine is a costly appliance to buy and operate. It consumes a lot of water, electricity and adds up a large chunk to your electricity bill. Here we will talk about energy efficient washing machines in detail.
You normally ignore front load washing machines because of their high price but if you will go into details you will find them more economical as they uses less amount of water and electricity. The washer tank in a front load machine has more capacity than a top load machine.
Larger capacity means fewer loads need to be done. It has higher speed spin cycle which removes more water from the clean clothes reducing the dryer’s work load. The only advantage of using top load machine is that they have low initial cost but they are more costly in long run as they consume more water and electricity.
Central agitators are not used in new models. However, some of the top door machines still use it but front door machines have almost stopped using it as it eat up more electricity.

Ground-fault circuit-interrupters are deliberately designed to rescue our lives and are used in places like sopping and saggy sites in and around the home. Ground-fault circuit-interrupter is always used for 125-volt, single phase, 15 and 20-amp fitted in the sites like bathrooms, garages, outdoors, basements and kitchens.
The opening of GFCI is there to protect people from any electrical hazards; hence it differs from a fuse in a great extent.
A GFCI is much more subtle. A GFCI monitors the amount of current flowing from hot to neutral. If there is any imbalance, it trips the circuit and cuts off the electricity. GFCI have test and reset buttons for a reason; they must be tested regularly. For general use, GFCIs should be tested and inspected monthly. Records of the testing must be kept.
GFCI checking generally looks for the outside problems like as distort or missing pins, insulation damage, and signals of inside destruction. Devastated and problematic apparatus must be taken into use unless it is mended. In addition to this, inspections are urgently required if a passage is returned to use after the mend and after any accident which can be reasonably suspected to have caused damage.
