When you would measure the purity of your distilled water then it can be determined by your definition of purity. Water that is 100% pure, do not contain anything except H20. But is it the water that we want? It does not contain even the things that are good for our health.
You will certainly find some minerals dissolved in the naturally occurring water. The common minerals found in such water are: sodium and potassium. These minerals are good for your health and are called as electrolytes inside your body.
If you want to remove dissolved minerals and things with boiling point higher than water then distillation process is a good option to go with. But by distillation process alone, you can not take out chlorine and its byproducts from the water and you need go for some more steps to free your water from all the harmful minerals.
When you would say that you want a pure water solution then that water would be free from all the chemical contaminants except the trace minerals unlike the distillation process. Pure water solution that does not contain trace minerals is used in certain industries and other applications.

Drains seem to get clogged for one reason or another on a regular basis. Most of the times, these clogs can be fixed with the help of some useful plumbing tools. Here we will talk about 5 top most tools that are used for un-clogging your drains.
The first tool that is used for unclogging your drain is a plunger. It is not very difficult to use a plunger for solving the problem of your blocked toilets and sinks. For using a plunger, you do not need to dismantle your sink or any fixture.
Next tool that is used to unclog the drain is snake. It is also called as an auger. Snake is like a spiral cable that is pushed down the pipes to move down the clog from the drain. The crank handle in snake enables us to move the snake down the pipe.
Just like snake there is a toilet snake also that is specifically used to fix toilet clogs. These snakes are more rigid than the other snakes and the cable in these snakes are shorter. There is a rubber sleeve in these snakes that prevents the snake to hurt the porcelain of your bowl.

Remodeling a bathroom is not a small project so for this project, it is quite essential to hire a skilled professional. So here we will discuss some tips for hiring a plumbing contractor for your project.
The first thing to consider is the working experience of the contractor. A minimum of 5 years experience is important to have in this field. You also need to consider if the contractor has any education in the trades? Does the contractor continue to educate him or herself to keep up with changing codes and design?
Ask the contractor to give you the reference of some of his past clients. After getting the references, call any of the two and ask them about the working capabilities of the contractor and his efficiency. Also consult the Better Business Bureau to check if there are any complaints against that contractor because generally complaints are filed in BBB against such contractors.
Check if the contractor you are planning to hire is insured or not. If you accept a bid from a contractor, be sure to require a certificate of insurance before the job starts. If the contractor is doing electrical or plumbing work then make sure that he has license for that.

Ignorant homeowners don’t consider the maintenance job of their fixtures an important task. Due to lack of proper maintenance, fixtures start to show irregularities. At this point of time, some of them wake up and hire a professional to undertake the concerned repair work. Such a hefty investment can be avoided if the plumbing setup is maintained properly from the very onset. With few easy and straightforward tips, you can save yourself from all such problems.
Start off by employing stoppers for all the sinks. Stoppers would check the entry of the foreign materials such as debris, hair, filth, waste food particles etc. in the drain pipes. Installing stoppers does not mean that you are not required to clean your sinks regularly. Installation of stoppers is a way of stopping excess drainage of filth. The remaining filth should be removed manually by accessing the passage of drain.
The problem of leaky taps is another common plumbing issue in most households. This problem can be solved easily with some wise apprehension. Often, such a problem occurs due to a loosely screwed tap. In such case, you can tighten up the tap using an appropriate-sized wrench. If the tap still leaks then you have to change the weary washer fitted inside the tap assembly.

For constructing a new bathroom as well as for repairing an old one, you need to take many complex decisions. You need to decide on basic plumbing fixtures, window space for ventilation and many more. You need to design your bathroom in a way that it has flexible space and is attractive as well as efficient. Don’t forget the number of members who will be using the bathroom and design one according to that.
For designing a new bathroom first consider that who will use your new bathroom and how often. Are there any safety concerns to do with children, elderly people or disabled people? Also check that what you need in terms of fittings: a separate shower, double basin, towel holder and so on.
After deciding all these things, you can draw your plan on a plane sheet of graph paper. On this paper, mark the positions of all the doors, windows, radiators, cupboards, bath tubs, basin(s), showers, WC and any other fittings that you want in your bathroom. If you have small space for your bathroom then you may decide to put WC in a separate room.

A plunger is a device that is used to unclog the clogged drains. A plunger is used prior to any other unclogging device because of its ease of use. A plunger may give you a false conception about its usage but its handling is quite tricky in actual practice. A plunger would help you in avoiding the usage of synthetic chemicals.
Plunger should be given priority over drain-opening chemicals. In case the plunger fails to unclog the drain, move on to the chemicals. Do not try to plunge water from the drain which contains acid-based chemical drain-openers. Such water can damage your skin and eyes very badly.
Plunger is mainly employed to remove as much standing water as possible to avoid churning of water on to you or on to the floor. You can add additional water later on if necessary.
Take the plunger out from your toolkit and fix it on the drain opening firmly. Be careful while setting the bell in position so as to attain maximum vacuum. Now, start plunging in an up-down motion such that the action is short and vigorous.

But with the fitting of the garbage disposal unit, the dishwasher is emptied in the garbage disposal.
Fortunately, attaching a garbage disposal to a dishwasher is easy. The article below familiarizes the homeowners with the steps to connect the garbage disposal with the dishwasher.
Clean out the bottom sink cabinet and place a bucket under the existing J-trap pipe. Use a pipe wrench to loosen the pipe and remove the pipe. Dump any water collected in the trap pipe into the bucket. Also remove the large nuts that connect the drain pipe with the sink. Detach the drain pipe from the sink.
To remove the strainer body from the sink, unscrew the large nut that holds it in place underneath the sink. Then clean off the old plumber’s putty that surrounds the edge of the drain opening.
