You should purchase John Deere products all around the world. Most of us associate the name, John Deere, with farming hardware. But that’s not true. The company manufactures every kind of industrial and domestic products. If you are uninterested in employing a lawn mower that keeps breaking down, have a look at the range of quality John Deere mowers.
You can get many push mowers, also called ‘walk behind’ mowers, in varying sizes. Depending on your preference, some models work off gas, while others need electricity. All have an adjustable height control and some come with facilities for other attachments.
If you are going to use the ‘walk behind’ type in craggy terrain, you should buy one with a rear-wheel drive. A mulch bag is a non mandatory additional on many models. You will be impressed to learn that all John Deere walk-behind mowers are powered by Briggs and Stratton engines.
If you don’t fancy the idea of sweating it out with a walk-behind mower, you might want to consider one of John Deere’s compact little garden tractors. You can sit comfortably on it while it does the job and, before you know it, your garden is once more looking fresh and clean.

Now that you have moved to the country, you find yourself with new challenges. Not only that, but the job of taking care of it’s all yours.
When you currently have three, 4 or maybe 5 acres, the walk-behind mower that used to do a fine job on your smaller suburban lot just isn’t going to slash it. In hunting for an answer to this challenge, an increasing number of rustic householders have turned to a tool that lawn upkeep managers have used for years : the highly maneuverable, highly productive zero-turn-radius mower. That’s the reason they are the single speediest growing gear segment in the outside power appliances industry. Many house owners see the zero-turn as a fast and good way to mow massive grasslands. While large commercial models offer lots of stability on hillsides, smaller home mowers are far more subject to drifting downhill when on an incline. In addition, the purchase of a zero-turn mower is an investment in a pure cutting machine.

Landscaping is a great way to improve the appearance of your yard, and landscape tools are essential for any landscaping project. There are many tools out there, some made for one specific job. The best thing you can do is to purchase a basic group of tools that you can multi-task with, and add specialized tools one at a time as you need them. The basic group of tools is listed below.
The first tool group is the shovel.
Group 2 is the rake
Group 3 is the lopper, shear or pruner.
The fourth tool group is the wheel barrel or garden cart.
The shovel is the first group of tools. It is a piece of metal that has been flattened and attached to a handle. These allow you to carry and move materials around. There are three main types of shovels. The flat shovel has a wide surface area, and is a relatively flat piece of metal. It is good for moving scoops from a rock or gravel pile. The second one is the rounded or pointed tip shovel. This is good for slicing and digging in the soil. It is the classic shovel that most people think of. The last is the narrow shovel. It works well for digging smaller holes and in tight spaces.

When spring comes around, what do you love to do? There are plenty of people who do love spring because, for them, it symbolizes hope. They believe that after the months of cold that belongs to winter, spring is like a miracle. Just think of how dreary winter is and then how everything seems to come alive when spring comes around. Now that is the magic that spring brings. And with spring comes wonderful plants coming to life.
The dandelion is one of the plants that springs back to life when the season comes around. It is known for its beautiful flowers. And then there is that part which lawn owners or garden owners hate – when the plant chooses to live in their gardens or lawns. The dandelion to them is a weed and spring is when they are at its peak. This weed comes with broad leaves and has yellow flowers and is known as a perennial weed.

You can be called unfortunate. Those sodwebworms have found a place in your lawn. They have called it their own. Right now, they are already there starting to organize things so that it would really be home. And right now, you have no idea that such is going on. They may not look harmful but what they can do is the total opposite. You will start to know that you have these insects around your lawn when there are brown spots that appear that water could not cure. Do something about it now.
First off, you should know what they are. The thing about this insect is that they are not the ones with creepy fangs or things like that. In fact, you will usually see them as worms. They can be beige or brown or gray or green in color and they have these four rows of brown spots that you would see right by their stomach. Sod webworms are not even big. They grow to be about three quarters of an inch long and that is not much really. You can never be afraid of them. But your lawn or your garden will definitely be.

It is easy for anyone to enhance the look of their lawn. Lawn chemicals are easily available anywhere to treat lawn pests and ensure green lawns, but have you considered the risks these products present to you, your family, pets, and the environment. Waste material from chemical lawn treatments are absorbed into underground streams, or run-off into nearby streams and water sources polluting the drinking water. Chemical lawn materials may also harm various components of your local ecosystem causing irreversible problems. You can avoid these problems associated with chemical lawn care by switching to organic lawn care.
Not all soil is the same and it is important to determine your soils composition before treating the soil. The pH of the soil is also an important consideration in treating soil to develop a beautiful, green lawn. It is easy to have your soil tested to determine its acidity or alkalinity. Soil rich in limestone tends to be more alkaline, above 7.0 on the pH scale. Acidic soil is generally below 6.5 on the acidic scale. Knowing this will help you most effectively treat your soil.

September highlights: keeping apace of daylilies; feeding the lawn and long-season plants; experimenting with chrysanthemums.
New, glamorous day-lilies are being introduced in such rapid succession that one is kept pretty well out of breath trying to keep apace of them.
Feeding the lawn and long-season plants – One of the leading manufacturers of lawn fertilizers, after reporting that under certain treatments lawns had been improved 80 per cent, commented: “That’s quite an improvement, but with supplemental feeding it’s possible to improve a lawn 180 per cent.” The secret is revealed in the practices of the golf-course superintendent: he feeds the greens regularly all summer long. What home gardeners should do is feed the lawn at the rate of 1-1/2 to 2 pounds of good plant food per 100 square feet in June and again in August or early September. Also, the clippings shouldn’t be removed unless they are unusually heavy and will mat and encourage the growth of fungus diseases.
According to the manufacturer’s report, greens that were fertilized regularly but not mulched with clippings made a 97 per cent increase in growth, whereas those given the same treatment but also mulched with clippings gave 180 per cent increase.
