Roof is one of the most essential part of your home. It protects you and your interiors from the external elements and the harsh weather conditions and therefore a good roofing system is a must for every home. The most important factor while planning the roofing system for your home is the roofing material you use.
You can choose from a wide variety of roofing materials for your home. Like asphalt shingles, wood shakes, ceramic tile, steel panels and green products like recycled rubber. But you should always consider some important factors like cost, durability, longevity, safety, maintenance efforts etc. before purchasing it as roof is one of the biggest investment for any homeowner.
As with most home building materials, roofing products these days are trending towards engineered materials. One reason for this trend is the ever-increasing cost of natural materials like wood and stone. But perhaps the most important reason people are using engineered roofing materials is the return on investment they offer; while the up front cost of installing a roof is one consideration, the service life and maintenance costs must also be factored in order to determine which roofing material provides the best value.

A leaky roof is one of the most common challenges faced by homeowners. When the roof leaks, a variety of problems can follow, from infestations of mold and mildew to damaged foundations. It is therefore important for homeowners to know how to find and repair those inevitable drips and leaks.
Many a times these roof leaks can be easily repaired without spending a lot of money. So, do not panic in such a situation and try to locate the source of the leak . Some common places for leaks are : fields of shingles, valleys or low spots in the roof, skylights, chimneys, plumbing vent flashings, wall step flashings, furnace or B-vent flashings, ice dams, missing shingles.
The first sign of a roof leak is often the presence of wet ceiling tiles. In this case the source of the leak can often be found by tracing the leak backwards to its source on the roof, keeping in mind that the source of the leak may be some distance away from where it is dripping into the home.

Roof is the most integral part of the house. It is one of the largest investment for any home owner. The look of the clay tile roof is timeless, but the roofs themselves are not. The roof is not the kind of thing which can be replaced frequently. So it should be installed properly so that it would last a minimum of fifteen years.
The structure of roofing should be dependable on the climatic nature and the area where you are living. Every time make a point that, the roofing type fits the style of your house and matches with the climatic conditions of your area. With clay tile roofing you do not have to put in much effort for its maintenance as it stays for a longer period than any other types of roofing.
If there are many advantages of clay tile roofing, then there will be some drawbacks also. It is tough to install these tiles. Everyone cannot do this job, hence a professional roofer is required. This same problem has to be faced while doing it’s replacement.

Rain gutter is generally a thin canal from where the water is composed together from the roof of the building and rerouting it into the drain. Cleaning a rain gutter is very much an irritating and disturbing job. Even if you have the right information it may still get cluttered.
Gutters or any type of drainage system protects your home from being flooded and from any roof damage. The main purpose of a rain gutter is to protect a building’s foundation by channeling water away from its base. They also help to reduce erosion, prevent leaks in basements, and protect painted surfaces by reducing exposure to water.
There are various kinds of items accessible for the rain gutters in home improvement shops. The vinyl gutters are low price to mount and very easy to slit than other types of gutters. Translating general gutters to vinyl gutters normally happens when a homeowner verifies the must to substitute the old, oxidized or flaccid metal gutters.
While the vinyl gutters are not susceptible to rot, they do get brittle with age and in extreme cold, and are more easily broken by the weight of a ladder than aluminum gutters.
